Jeff Schultz did not sign his qualifying offer today, while everyone else among the Caps restricted free agents who didn’t elect salary arbitration (Shaone Morrisonn, Eric Fehr, Chris Bourque, Steve Pinizzotto and Kyle Wilson) did.

Schultz remains a restricted free agent and property of the Caps, but the QO is off the table. He doesn’t really have much leverage, so it is an interesting move — one that didn’t work out so well for Tomas Fleischmann’s bank account two years ago.

Morrisonn will make $1.975 million next year (same as last year) and Fehr will collect $771,750. Bourque, Wilson and Pinizzotto all signed two-way deals — Pinizzotto’s is for two years.

Schultz and Milan Jurcina (who will go to arbitration if he doesn’t sign) are the team’s only two remaining RFAs.
