After a bit of confusion from yesterday, Jeff Schultz has indeed signed his qualifying offer and will be back with the Caps next year. He will make $715,000 on a one-year, two-way deal. He would still have to clear waivers if the Caps tried to send him to Hershey.

UPDATED: A team spokesman said Schultz’s fax never made it to the Caps’ office yesterday, but it did make to the NHL Central Registry office in Montreal. Hence the reason for the mix-up.
