The Caps traded defenseman Sami Lepisto to Phoenix for a fifth-round pick in 2010. Lepisto had fallen fast on the Caps depth chart this season. He was essentially the team’s top choice as a call-up on the blue line two years ago, but several guys passed him this past season.
