Hello all from sunny Raleigh, N.C., where we are a few minutes away from Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

After a few much-needed days off to catch up on sleep and some TV on the DVR (i.e. about a month’s worth of Lost and 24), I am back on the road for some more hockey coverage. In case you missed it, we had a story on Quintin Laing the other day — I spent a day with the Bears before they went to Providence and will write a few more stories from that. I also hope to go back at some point during their run.

For now though I will be covering this Hurricanes-Penguins series, and then the Cup finals as well (with a trip back to Hershey hopefully mixed in). After that its off to Las Vegas for the NHL awards show, Montral for the draft and then free agency and Caps rookie camp. It should be a busy summer.
