The license plates on President-elect Obama‘s limo were changed overnight. Where they used to say “44” - for his position as the 44th president - they now say “1.” The deep blue license plates have the labels “56th Presidential Inauguration” and “Renewing America’s Promise” above and below the number.
The president travels in a motorcade with two exact copy armored limos and a series of support vehicles.
Waiting for Mr. Obama to emerge from Blair House, a member of his motorcade security detail was putting a finishing polish on one of the support SUVs that will join the incoming president today.
Leaving no detail to chance, one limo tested its blue and red flasher lights. And D.C. Police officers used their cell phone cameras to take photos of them in front of one of that limo.
