The Washington Times - February 26, 2009, 09:15PM

It’s a Thursday night, and the Washington Capitals are playing the Atlanta Thrashers — a prescription for a sleepy, small crowd. Yet the Verizon Center has been rocking since play began. It’s not packed to the rafters, but it is a pretty impressive crowd for a Thrashers game. And Capitals fans have been red and raucous and passsionate, particularly when Alex Ovechkin drew a penalty after getting a stick to the face. I don’t know why President Barack Obama would want to bother to go to a Wizards game, as he is expected to Friday night. The Capitals are the only game in town these days worthy of his presence.
