Please join me tonight (Monday, June 1) for the charity event sponsored by the DC Grays called “Triple Play” starting at 6 p.m. Buffalo Billiards in the District.
The fund raiser will feature three simultaneous, tournament-style games (pool tournament, Nintendo Wii bowling tournament, darts tournament) that all patrons who make a suggested donation of ($25) will have an opportunity to play in and win a grand prize as well as win special door prizes from our sponsors. I will be attending as a guest and donating a copy of my book, “The Encyclopedia of Negro League Baseball” as one of the prizes.

All proceeds will help benefit the organization’s summer programs, which include the S.M.A.R.T. (Sports Management, Academics, and Recreational Training) out-of-school time program for D.C. youth which they currently operate at the Septima Clark Public Charter School , the FBR Branch Boys and Girls Club and the new Commissioners Camp Summer of Success.
The DC Grays are a team that plays in the Clark C. Griffith Collegiate Summer League, with collegiate baseball players from around the nation playing on teams in the Washington area. The goal of the Grays is also to operate a summer camp for youth to offer instruction and mentorship from the team’s roster of college level baseball players.
