Democrats in Congress want the government to pony up the dough to save the U.S. carmaking industry.

I’m probably a little confused here, but aren’t these the same people who wanted to rein in the carmaking industry by imposing tough fuel-consumption and emissions standards?


It reminds me of that general’s comment about the goal of a bombing mission during the Vietnam War — we had to destroy the village in order to save it.
