So congressional leaders announced that they had a deal on the $700 billion bailout plan, then discovered they didn’t have enough votes to actually approve the deal in the House.

You know, these are the kinds of people you want to deal with in a poker game.


Player 1: “I’ve got a royal flush!”

Player 2: “No, you’ve got a pair of threes.”

Player 1: “But that’s still good, isn’t it?”

Player 2: “It is for me. Gin!”

Dealer: “And the house wins again.”
