The FBI is warning that scam artists are behind a fake contest in which Oprah Winfrey will give away $1 million to one “lucky” person, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.

Scam artists have sent emails announcing the “Oprah Winfrey Millionaire Contest Show,” telling recipients they have been nominated to attend the special show. They are then asked to pay their travel expenses in advance.

So does this mean I’m not in the contest and I’ve lost my travel money?  Well, at least I still have my investment in the Brooklyn Bridge that I got from that nice man outside the liquor store the other day.

The thing is Oprah has given away vacations, cars and houses.  This scam just might encourage her to aim higher.  If anybody could afford to give away $1 million, it’s Oprah.  And maybe Timothy Geithner.
