The Obamas hosted a celebration of country music in the East Room of the White House, featuring country stars Charley Pride, Allison Krauss and Brad Paisley, the Tennessean is reporting.

The glitterati of Washington and Nashville filled the room for the event, the second in a series of showcases of American music at the White House.

There was one odd moment during the event. President Obama said he has been a longtime lover of country music and then started a line dance. Unfortunately, it was “The Electric Slide.”

I heard that the first lady asked Brad Paisley what inspired him to go into country music after experiencing so much success with the design pattern that bears his name.
