Police in Bronx, N.Y., have uncovered a drug ring in which Build-a-Bear toys were stuffed with $33 million worth of heroin, the New York Daily News is reporting.

The stuffed toys were packed with plastic containers of different kinds of heroin bearing names such as “Crime 360,” “Swine Flu” and even “Barack Obama.”

“It’s a huge shock,” said Mario Amesqui, who lives in one of the buildings where the drug ring operated. “My daughter has one of those toys. I’m very surprised something like that was going on right here, and I’m especially surprised it was a Build-A-Bear.”

Lesson learned: Never trust a bear, even a stuffed one. It’ll only eat you or try to get you high.

Heroin in stuffed toy bears? That’s just wrong. I thought that was what drug mules were for.

Luckily it was toy stuffing and not turkey stuffing, because Thanksgiving would take on a whole new meaning.
