When Bernie Madoff is sentenced today for bilking investors of $65 billion, many of his victims will be watching and hoping he gets life in prison, the Los Angeles Times is reporting.

Meanwhile, investigators have recovered only $1.2 billion of the $13.2 billion Madoff had scammed from investors since 1995, the Wall Street Journal is reporting. And Madoff isn’t helping them find the money.

Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of 150 years for Madoff, but maybe he’d cooperate in finding the loot if they reduced the sentence to, say, 65 years. That’s one year for each billion of dollars he stole. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
