Cuban-Americans are creating an economic boom in Havana, now that looser U.S. travel restrictions allow them to visit relatives in the communist island nation, the Guardian is reporting.

And they’re bringing their Cuban relatives all sorts of hard-to-get goodies, such as toothbrushes, M&Ms and Victoria’s Secret underwear — as well as U.S. dollars.

Still, the 47-year-old U.S. embargo against Cuba is still in effect and is being protested in Havana.

One group of protesters chanted: “Bush and Obama sleep in the same bed and eat from the same plate.”  Wow!  Do their wives know that?  Better yet, does Dick Cheney know?

I didn’t know that toothbrushes were hard to get in Cuba.  But I guess that’s balanced by the country’s free health care system, huh?

It’s good that Cubans are getting Victoria’s Secret bras because everybody needs that kind of support sometimes.  I know I do.
