In Friday’s paper and here on this site, I was asked to write what I would wager with an imaginary $100 on the Preakness Stakes.
I hope you listened. And I really hope you bet with me.
SEE RELATED:
Washington Times staff writer Stephen Whyno has been given an imaginary pot of $100 to wager on the Preakness Stakes. This is how he would use the money:
*$20 to win on Animal Kingdom
*$10 to win on Mucho Macho Man and Shackleford
*$2 exacta box Animal Kingdom-Mucho Macho Man-Shackelford ($12)
*$1 trifecta box Animal Kingdom-Mucho Macho Man-Shackleford-Astrology ($24)
*$1 superfecta box Animal Kingdom-Mucho Macho Man-Shackleford-Astrology ($24)
If you did just that, you would have made $951.70.
That’s not a typo.
A $10 win bet on Shackelford would have gotten you $136. The $2 exacta box would have fetched another $114.80. And finally, the $1 trifecta box would have won you $700.90.
I’ll be back for the Belmont Stakes. Tip your waitress.
