BALTIMORE | Alternation wasn’t hyped up in the Pimlico Special; that was reserved for Hymn Book and Mission Impazible. But he sure earned plenty of deserved praise for winning the $300,000 race Friday afternoon.
Alternation, which paid $10.20, $5.00 and $3.80, held off a hard-charging Nehro with a head bob at the wire on the dirt track at Pimlico Race Course. He officially won by a nose.
