Linda T. Sanchez (b. January 28, 1969, in Orange, CA) is a Democratic member of the U.S. House representing California's 38th Congressional District. Sanchez was first elected to the House in 2002. She is seeking reelection to her current seat. In 2018, Sanchez won the election by defeating Ryan Downing (R) (Sanchez - 68.9; Downing - 31.1%). She earned her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and her J.D. from the University of California. She is an attorney by profession.
