After accusations of racist remarks and a head-to-head conflict with “The Talk” co-host Sheryl Underwood, Sharon Osbourne could be walking away with a cool $5 to $10 million minimum payout (“‘The Talk’ on hiatus amid CBS probe into Sharon Osbourne comments,” Web, March 15).

If all the headlines are true and celebrities are in fact just like us, shouldn’t they be judged by today’s turbulent atmosphere of racial sensitivity the same way non-celebrities are judged? Those of us who are not entitled would not only be terminated and persecuted, but martyred from a cancel-culture lynching.

When layoffs and/or terminations occurred in my 50-year career, “Don’t let the door hit you on your way out!” was my payoff.

And since celebrities are enabled and entitled, they are nothing like the rest of us at all.
