If someone asks you what’s so great about America, what would you say?
Here’s an answer: that in this country, individual rights come from God and government is in the role of servant to protect those inherent liberties.
Another answer?
America’s love for its military — and Americans’ willingness to come out in droves to support military members, veterans and families.
Major Scott Huesing, U.S. Marine Corps, retired, is a bestselling author of “Echo in Ramadi” and the executive director of Save the Brave, a nonprofit dedicated to drawing attention to veterans’ issues — particularly, veterans’ suicides. And as part of that nonprofit’s mission, Huesing rides across the nation on his Harley Davidson, making stops at select spots to meet with members of the community, raise money and awareness for veterans, and generally, focus on the positives of America’s military.
As he noted on Bold and Blunt, the thousands and thousands who turn out for his motorcycle events only serve to underscore the greatness of this country.
“It really exposed to me the best of the human condition,” Huesing said. “Everywhere we go, we just continue to see this outpouring of support. …
[We are] telling veterans there are thousands of people who support you … and I see that city after city.”
