DHS to redeploy up to 2,000 officers to border crisis

Homeland Security will transfer up to 2,000 officers away from the ports of entry to assist the Border Patrol, Homeland Security Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said Monday, escalating the all-hands approach to trying to stop the massive illegal immigration surge.

U.S.-Mexico border ‘illegal immigration superhighway’

Anyone crossing the U.S.-Mexico border could end up stuck in longer lines as officers are pulled from the land ports of entry and deployed to help the Border Patrol transport, feed and see to the medical needs of the tens of thousands of people streaming illegally into the U.S. each week.

Border crisis beginning to bring pain home for Americans

Lines at U.S. border crossings are already increasing after hundreds of officers have already been pulled off duty there are redeployed to help the Border Patrol process the surge of illegal immigrants being caught sneaking into the country elsewhere.
