Hillary Clinton email release falls well short of judge’s order

The State Department admitted it was violating a judge's order Friday in releasing only 1,356 new emails from former Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton's time in the administration, with officials saying they're falling behind because they are having to run all of the documents by intelligence agencies to make sure classified documents aren't being released.

Jesus Deniz Mendoza, Mexican accused of double murder, was legal immigrant

The man accused of killing two Good Samaritans who tried to help him on a Montana roadside was encountered by immigration authorities earlier this year after a burglary arrest, but was unable to be deported because he had already gotten legal status, federal authorities said this week.

Judge rules illegal immigrant parents with children should be released

A federal judge's ruling presaging the release of the largest number of illegal immigrant mothers and children from U.S. detention centers has erased the last get-tough immigration policy of the Obama administration, leaving the law even more of a mess and authorities with even fewer tools to try to deter another surge of border crossers.

Feds leave illegal immigrant children in lurch: Report

The federal government doesn't follow up with the vast majority of the illegal immigrant Central American children it caught at the border and released into communities over the last two years, leaving them to uncertain care and potential abuse in their new homes, according to a new report Thursday from the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.
