Couldn’t help but notice this headline last night:

“Miami of Ohio football player arrested”

Normally, it wouldn’t be of much interest for some football player from a MAC school to wind up in the police blotter. But Maryland had a lineman transfer to the lovely campus at Miami (Ohio) after the 2005 season, so it seemed worth a click.

Sure enough, former Terp Zachary Marshall was charged with aggravated burglary, burglary and assault.

There wasn’t much for even hard-core Maryland fans to recall about Marshall, No. 79 on your scorecard in case you kept track of linemen warming up during the fall of ‘05. He redshirted, then transferred out to a school much closer to his Cincinnati-area home.

But it is funny how a few random paragraphs on the wire can certainly get the ole’ memory working.
