In the race for college sports’ best mascot, it’s really, really hard to argue with Uga.

But Uga is downright iconic. And in one of the saddest bits of news of this college football offseason, Uga VI died yesterday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
In a sign of just how big a deal Uga is, he’ll be buried Monday morning at Sanford Stadium.
Since it’s a slow time for college sports, there’s probably no better time for a discussion on top mascots. Anyone have an argument for another choice? And was there an obvious choice left off the brief rundown above?
