Maryland senior Matt Furstenburg is on the watch list for the Mackey Award, which is given to the nation’s top tight end.

Furstenburg had 31 receptions for 348 yards and two touchdowns last season for the Terrapins. He ranked fourth on the team in both catches and receiving yards. He combined for much of his production —- 16 receptions, 242 yards and both touchdowns —- in three games (Miami, West Virginia, Clemson).


Furstenburg is one of 33 players nationally (and three in the ACC, along with Clemson’s Brandon Ford and Boston College’s Chris Pantale) on the watch list. Semifinalists will be announced Nov. 12.
