Former Maryland pitcher Eric Milton was named the school’s interim baseball coach Thursday.

Milton spent last season as a volunteer assistant for the Terrapins. He played at Maryland from 1994 to 1996 and later had an 11-year major league career with Minnesota, Philadelphia, Cincinnati and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Former coach Erik Bakich agreed to take over at Michigan on Wednesday. He went 70-98 in three seasons at Maryland, including 32-24 in 2012.
