House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi upped the satirical ante Thursday with a new, tongue-in-cheek attack ad taking on comedian Stephen Colbert, who has formed a real “super PAC” to support his less-than-real bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

In the ad, released on YouTube on Thursday, Mrs. Pelosi, California Democrat, calls for voters to support efforts to “Stop Colbert” — in part because “he doesn’t even like kittens.”

Under the now-famous shot of Mrs. Pelosi sharing a couch with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, she complains that Mr. Colbert has even used his super PAC to “attack my friend Newt Gingrich.”

Mrs. Pelosi, herself a former speaker, closes the cheeky ad with a serious pitch for the DISCLOSE Act, campaign finance legislation being introduced Thursday by Democrats that would require the super PACs to disclose their funding sources
