Foreign cars are crowding U.S. ports as American consumers curtail their purchases of automobiles, Reuters is reporting.

All kinds of cars — from subcompacts and hybrids to SUVs — are out there waiting to be sold. But nobody has the money or can get the credit to buy them.

What to do? What to do?

If only there were some way to make cars more affordable. You know, some way to make the cost of the car more attractive to buyers. If only there were some way to cut the price.

It’s an inscrutable conundrum.
