New York Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes is asking President Bush to pardon his brother, who was busted on a pot-selling charge, Newsday is reporting.

Tynes shouldn’t get his hopes up.

First of all, the administration has a zero tolerance policy on drugs, and pardoning a seller would contradict that policy.

Second, Tynes plays for the Giants. He’d have a much better shot if he were a Cowboy or Texan.

And third, he’s a kicker. If he were a quarterback, he’d definitely have a shot. A running back or receiver, probably. A lineman, 50-50. But a kicker?
