Twitter, the micro-blogging social networking Web site, has suspended an account that billed itself as the Dalai Lama’s official account, Agence France Presse is reporting.

The account, which was activated Saturday, quickly attracted about 20,000 followers. It included a photo of the Dalai Lama’s actual Web site and one of his quotes.

The account now bills itself at “Dalai Lama Info” and says it’s not affiliated with the real Dalai Lama.  But it still has nearly 20,000 followers, so I’m guessing they don’t know Dalai.

You know I was a little suspicious when the account answered the question “What are you doing?” with “#followfriday Slamming back shooters with a couple of hotties at Club Orgy.”  Because it wasn’t Friday.
