UPDATE: The octuplets’ mom has launched a Web site to collect donations to care for her children, Us Magazine reports.

Taxpayers likely will pay millions to support a mother of six who recently gave birth to octuplets, even though the mother says she will raise her 14 children without seeking welfare, the Los Angeles Times is reporting.

The mother, Nadya Suleman, is out of work, has no income and owes $50,000 in student loans. Her octuplets already have tallied more than $150,000 in hospital costs.

Though Suleman says she intends to go back to work, she may be eligible for permanent disability payments.

It takes a village to raise a child … and it takes a BIG city to raise a passel of children.

You know, Suleman’s situation sounds perfect for a bailout.  She could have been a Wall Street executive.
