US Airways this month will begin charging passengers an extra $7 for a blanket and pillow, the AP is reporting.
Jet Blue announced a similar plan last summer, when cash-strapped airlines began charging passengers for amenities that had been free.

A US Airways marketing official said the new charges are part of the “pay for what you use” policy the airline began implementing last year.
Other in-flight amenities and charges:
Seat cushion: $10
Armrest: $10 (Must be purchased in conjunction with seat cushion.)
Tray table: $5.50
Bathroom: $3 entry fee; $2.50 per flush (After three flushes, we call your bank.)
Air: $15 per hour of flight
