The AP is reporting some of the outstanding details of US Airways Flight 1549, telling how a flock of birds flying in perfect formation were sucked into the airliner’s engines and forced the pilot to land on the Hudson River.

All 155 passengers and crew survived, with only minor injuries reported.

Dave Boyer, a friend on Facebook, noted in his profile that the Bush administration severed diplomatic ties with Canada, after it was revealed that a flock of Canada geese had downed the airliner.

It isn’t widely known, but Canada has an advantage over us in the goose race.  America needs to close the goose gap.  We need more geese.

One wag suggested that we send a flock of seagulls to Canada for a counterattack.  But A Flock of Seagulls is currently rehearsing for a reunion tour and is unavailable for military action.
