A Connecticut lawmaker is petitioning his state government to bail out a local newspaper that is in imminent danger of closing, Reuters is reporting.

Lawmaker Frank Nicastro wants to save the Bristol Herald and wants the state government to do the saving.


A government-supported news outlet.  There couldn’t be any problems with that, could there?  I mean, news is news — especially when the government tells you it’s news.
