President Bush, continuing a custom started by Ronald Reagan, left a note in the Oval Office for President-elect Barack Obama to wish him well, the AP is reporting.

The White House declined to provide details about the contents of the note.


Some excerpts from the note:

There’s a jar of peanut butter in lower right desk drawer — smooth, not chunky — and the crackers are in a safe behind the fireplace.

Keep an eye on Sarkozy.  He’s French, you know.

If you ever get tongue-tied during a speech, just stop and give a thoughtful look.  Nobody will notice your mistake.

You’ve heard about this guy who always carries “the football.”  Well, it ain’t a real football, just a bunch of codes and such.
