Jimmy Fallon is aiming to become the digital king of late-night television, the Chicago Tribune is reporting.

The new host of NBC’s “Late Night,” Fallon regularly issues “tweets” via Twitter, has posted video blogs and might allow viewers to talk to him during his show via Skype.

All the digital stuff is great, Jimmy.  Really cutting edge.  But it all comes down to one thing: Can you be funny?  Just once?

I mean, there’s no amount of digital input that could have made “Fever Pitch” or “Taxi” an enjoyable experience.
