The micro-blogging site Twitter is experiencing some difficulties, having slowed to crawl for several minutes — which is a couple of lifetimes in the land of the “tweet.”

Is it because of that new Google account that attracted something like 30,000 followers in its first two days?  Or maybe so many users are following Jimmy Fallon‘s dispatches that they’ve crashed the system? No, that can’t be it.

Whatever it is, this might force people to do what they did before the dawn of instant messaging, microblogging and email — talk to each other.
