Fresh off the plane from Orlando where he spent the last three days getting an upclose look at prospects for next month’s draft, Wizards team president Ernie Grunfeld described this year’s Pre-draft Camp as “interesting” just a few minutes ago.

He wasn’t able to comment extensively because most of the players in attendance are underclassmen. Grunfeld, whose Wizards hold the 18th and 48th picks in the draft, said only “two or three” first-round caliper players worked out during the week, but that the camp gave him and and his staff a chance to further evaluate the talent and narrow down their list of candidates.

“Just taking everything in,” Ernie said. “It’s another phase in the evaluation process.”

The Wizards will be holding player workouts at Verizon Center next Thursday. Grunfeld didn’t have the full list on him, but he verified that North Carolina point guard Ty Lawson is among the players that received a workout invitation.

We should have a full list of players on Monday.
