The Ethiopian Sports Federation in North America (ESFNA) will hold its largest fundraiser this week inside RFK Stadium, and will put on a week-long soccer tournament, concerts, a talent show and voter registration drive.

Officials from the D.C. Sports and Entertainment Commission, estimate that 30,000 people will attend the festival, with the highest numbers next weekend for the playoffs of the soccer tournament. The tournament features the 27 teams from the ESFNA, which include teams from D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

The Federation’s stated purpose is to “provide positive role models for the youth and promote goodwill between the Ethiopian communities in the United States and those around the world.”
