Taco Bell promised to give out a free taco to everyone in America if anyone got a stolen base during the World Series. They called it the “Steal a Base, Steal A Taco” promotion.

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett made the restaurant chain honor the deal when he stole second base during the 5th inning of tonight’s Game 1. (It proved to be a useful stolen base, too, as Barlett scored on a double.) It’s the second straight year Taco Bell has held the free taco promotion, and last year it claims to have given out “millions” of tacos thanks to a stolen base by the Red Sox Jacob Ellsbury.

Free tacos can be redeemed on Tuesday, Oct. 28 between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

UPDATE: Taco Bell president Greg Creed was interviewed in the stands. He’s apparently from Australia, and said he grew up on cricket, not baseball. Fox’s Chris Myers asked him what a good score in cricket would be, and he said “three-hundred to two.”
