Alex Ovechkin is continuing his advertising relationship with Hair Cuttery with a new campaign and Web site that launches today.

The Capitals’ star left wing will appear in Internet advertisements on various sports and entertainment Web sites. All of the ads can also be seen at The site touts a feature that keeps statistics of how many games Ovechkin plays and how many goals he scores, as well as the number of times he shampoos, rinses and repeats.


The campaign will also include a mobile billboard that will cruise the streets around the arena at most home games, including the home opener on Oct. 11. The ads feature lines such as: “Alexander The Great Haircut;” “What He Is To Hockey, We Are To Hair;” and “Most Valuable Hair.”

Ovechkin is said to be a frequent customer of the Hair Cuttery at Ballston Mall, next to the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, where the team practices.
