The Bible often tells of people receiving visits from celestial agents, especially when something important is about to occur, or simply when a person is in trouble and really needs help. Once in a while you hear or read of a person in this modern era who tells of having received help when they were in a desperate situation.
Here is a link to a story in guidepostsmag.com in which a man tells of being confronted by a killer. He prayed, and he survived. He never actually saw the one who suddenly stepped in to save his life, but he is convinced that he was helped by someone or something sent by Heaven in response to his prayer.
