Showcase Presents: Sgt. Rock, Volume 2

Showcase Presents: Sgt. Rock, Volume 2, trade paperback, DC Comics ($16.99)

Timed to coincide with the release of the new Billy Tucci Sgt. Rock series, these reprints of classic Joe Kubert and Russ Heath WWII comics are full of beautiful art. And reminders of a simpler time as well….

Umbrella Academy: Dallas, No. 1 from Dark Horse Comics

Umbrella Academy: Dallas, No. 1, Dark Horse Comics ($2.99)

The singer of My Chemical Romance proves yet again that he’s a better comic writer than a musician. Really impressive goth-tinged super-hero (sort of) comics, with a hint of 1980s Alan Moore. Highly recommended.

P.S. Buffy the Vampire Slayer #19 FINALLY shipped.

Greg Bennett is the Owner/Manager of Big Planet Comics, a chain of pop art specialty stores in the DC Metro area with locations in Georgetown, Bethesda, Vienna, & College Park.
