30 Days of Night: 30 Days Til Death, No. 1 from IDW Publishing

30 Days of Night: 30 Days Til Death, No. 1, IDW Publishing ($3.99)

Hopefully David Lapham will return to Stray Bullets at some point, but to be fair I’ve loved his Batman: City of Crime, Silverfish, and Young Liars at DC. Now he turns his attentions to Steve Niles’ vampire universe with his take on 30 Days of Night—as a 20-something vampire tries to keep a low profile as war breaks out between the old guard and the new breed.

Wonderful Wizard of Oz, No. 1 from Marvel Entertainment

Wonderful Wizard of Oz, No. 1, Marvel Entertainment  ($3.99)

Before he garnered fame for his Trojan War History, Age of Bronze, Eric Shanower was best known for his work on Oz comics (based on the classic children’s books). Now he returns to the Oz-verse as writer, with unbelievably fantastic art by Skottie Young. Highly recommended!

Greg Bennett is the Owner/Manager of Big Planet Comics, a chain of pop art specialty stores in the DC Metro area with locations in Georgetown, Bethesda, Vienna, & College Park.
