In this July 17, 2016 photo, a group of servants lead a procession in Quincy, Ill., to mark the 130th anniversary of Father Augustus Tolton's return to the city after his studies and ordination in Rome. When the Rev. Tolton returned to Quincy in 1886, hundreds of Quincyans welcomed home the country's first recognized black priest with open arms. This years celebration, a much smaller, but no less reverent, crowd marked the anniversary with prayer and a procession to St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, where Tolton has been buried for almost 120 years.
