Karla Borger, Julia Sude, German beach volleyball duo, to boycott Qatar tournament over bikini issue

German beach volleyball stars Karla Borger and Julia Sude said this weekend they planned to boycott a tournament in Doha, Qatar next month because of a policy against competitors wearing bikinis -- the common uniform for women's beach volleyball players. But the sport's governing body, FIVB, said Tuesday there will be "no restrictions" against wearing bikinis during tournament play.

Mariners president Kevin Mather apologizes for controversial comments

Seattle Mariners president and CEO Kevin Mather resigned from his position Monday, the team announced. Mather had been under fire after comments he made at a Rotary Club earlier this month went viral. In that conversation with the local Rotary Club, Mather admitted to service time manipulation for prospects and criticized two members of the organization for their English-speaking proficiency, among other topics.
