It wasn’t even 9 a.m. and my phone was buzzing about yesterday’s posts concerning Maryland’s practice policy —- in particular, Ralph Friedgen’s comment “I let you in all spring, all the time. Is there another team that does that?”

On the other end was a familiar voice. “You messed up there, Patrick. You should have pointed out Georgia Tech has open practices to the public.”

Indeed, Georgia Tech does have open practices to the public.

And checking my e-mail brought this reminder from a reliable source in Annapolis:

I would like to point out that every Navy practice during preseason camp and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday during the season is open to everybody, the entire practice.  Georgia Tech is the same way now that Paul Johnson is there. … Also, every spring practice is open, too.  Every one. Start to finish.

And Navy’s reached five straight bowl games with such a policy.

Just sayin’.
