Looking back at Saturday’s picks from Navy’s 12-0 loss to San Jose State …
1. Keegan Wetzel will record another sack.
INCORRECT. Wetzel’s sack streak ended at three, though he nearly dropped Spartans quarterback David Fales on a third down in the red zone. Navy had three sacks: Wes Henderson, Jordan Drake and Josh Tate.
2. Gee Gee Greene will score a touchdown.
INCORRECT. Navy didn’t score a touchdown, which made this prediction particularly bad.
3. David and Paul Quessenberry will be matched up at some point.
CORRECT. The brothers lined up against each other for two plays early in the second quarter, at minimum. There were a few other teams where it appeared Paul (a Navy defensive end) was blocked by San Jose State’s left guard rather than his older brother (San Jose State’s left tackle).
4. Navy will switch starting centers yet again.
CORRECT. Tanner Fleming returned to the starting lineup after a one-game hiatus.
5. Navy will win.
INCORRECT. The Mids fell to 1-3 while managing only 144 total yards, their lowest total since 2002.
SAN JOSE STATE: 2-for-5
