A year ago, 28 former Maryland football players survived the NFL’s cut day to 53-man rosters.
This year, the number is down to 22.
Among Friday’s cuts were tight end Dan Gronkowski (Cleveland), linebacker Adrian Moten (Philadelphia), kicker Nick Novak (San Diego), quarterback Josh Portis (Seattle) and wide receiver Isaiah Williams (Arizona).
None of the seniors on Maryland’s roster last season stuck with a team. Cornerbacks Cameron Chism and Trenton Hughes and running back Davin Meggett all were in camp last month.
