He’s the first Maryland receiver to win the ACC rookie of the week honor since Darrius Heyward-Bey in 2006 for a multi-touchdown performance against Florida State. Diggs was also the first Terp freshman to catch two touchdown passes in a game since Heyward-Bey had two against Miami in November 2006.
Diggs is the second Terp to win the conference rookie of the week honor this season. Quarterback Perry Hills was selected for his performance against Temple earlier this month.
