As the Democratic and Republican parties amp up campaign efforts in the final weeks before the much anticipated Nov. 2 midterm elections, party webmasters are busy churning out new online bells and whistles aimed at grabbing the attention of prospective voters.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee — the fundraising arm of House Democrats — on Monday revamped its web site, www.dccc.org, in an attempt to mobilize supporters to vote. The interactive site, themed “Democrats 2010,” gives visitors specific voter information for targeted House races and Democratic candidates, as well as links for volunteering and registering to vote.
Meanwhile, the Republicans’ National Committee on Monday launched its “Fire Pelosi Bus Tour” web site, www.FirePelosiBus.com. The site allows visitors to follow the RNC’s “Fire Pelosi Bus” as it crisscrosses the country to visit major cities, targeted districts and rural communities to spread its campaign message that it is time for Republicans to retake the House and “fire” Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
